For those based in the UK, your subscription membership now includes insurance, here are the key details you need to know about, including how it works, to what it covers you for.
Does this insurance invalidate any others I have in place?
No. Fieldsports Press are the policy holders and therefore it does not invalidate any policies you hold personally. It is up to you whether you choose to use this subscriber benefit or not.
How does the insurance work if I am buying a gift subscription?
The person you are buying for is covered, it is up to them whether they want to use the insurance during the length of their subscription.
Who is insuring you?
The insurance brokers are Blackmore Borley Ltd.
There are three types of insurance:
1. British Airgun Shooter Association (BASA). You will be enrolled with BASA if you subscribe to Airgun World.
2. Sporting Shooter Association (SSA). You will be enrolled with SSA if you subscribe to Shooting Times, Rifle Shooter or Sporting Gun.
3. British Fieldsports Association (BFA). You will be enrolled with BFA if you subscribe to Fieldsports Journal.
What is included?
This insurance is designed for everyone. Whether you are a working professional or just shoot socially and covers members of Sporting Shooter Association, British Airgun Shooter Association and British Fieldsports Association as outlined above.
The insurance takes effect the moment you make your first payment and covers you for £2 million of public liability insurance covering the use of airguns, shotguns, and Rimfire/centrefie rifles for recreational and professional use in the United Kingdom.
This covers legal liability for damages and costs related to:
- Accidental injury to any person
- Accidental damage to property
- Accidental nuisance
